ABOUT SPIDER

Since 2004 SPIDER has managed various programmes with the digitalisation of international development as main concern by focusing on how ICT (Information & Communication Technologies) can be used in international and national development efforts to decrease inequalities.

Today we are an independent public center with innovative programmes in Africa, Asia and Central South America. SPIDER is making digitalisation of international development an opportunity for countries and regions to fully make use of the digital revolution and to close gaps where it had been previously impossible, for the benefit of the all society.

SPIDER focus

SPIDER promotes human rights through our thematic approach in Health & Wellbeing, Transparency & Accountability, Education & Learning, Research, Bilateral Programmes and International Training programme for ICT for Regulators.

We do capacity building through change initiative trainings and guest lecturing. We share our expertise in ICT4D and contribute to the SDG goals and digital development principles.

We apply research with researchers from project countries, outcomes and activities are verified and detailed reports are shared publicly.

We network by bringing together public, private, and civil society in digital technology. International and regional events are organised with partners to share knowledge.

Networking is a cornerstone of SPIDER. We successfully establish, lead and support networks to build from their design, set up, and membership. Through networks, we add value to digital development, benefiting not only our own programme results but also organisations and institutions who are members of these networks.
